YORK, PA. – The York College baseball team picked up their eighth straight win by jumping on the Elizabethtown Blue Jays early and often led by a pair of homeruns by Justin Kilpatrick as York cruised to a 15-6 victory on Tuesday afternoon.

York (Pa.): 8-1

Elizabethtown: 4-9

Score: York 15, Elizabethtown 6

Hits: York 14, Elizabethtown 11

Errors: York 3, Elizabethtown 2

Left on Base: York 8, Elizabethtown 8

Doubles: York 4, Elizabethtown 1

Homeruns: York 2, Elizabethtown 0

How It Happened:

• The Spartans got on the board first scoring a pair of runs on a two-run no-doubter homerun off the bat of Justin Kilpatrick with two outs in the bottom of the second inning giving York the early 2-0 lead.

• The Spartans stayed hot in the third starting with a leadoff double to left-center by Grant Oberholtzer. He would come in to score on the next pitch when Austin Denlinger singled through the right side and then advanced to second base on the throw. Denlinger would come in for the second run of the inning on an RBI-double down the right field line by Jack Barry and the Spartans had runners on second and third with no outs. An Elizabethtown error brought in Barry to give York a 5-0 lead but the Spartans were not finished. Kilpatrick launched his second homer in as many innings and York ballooned their lead to 8-0. The Spartans would add another run on Oberholtzer's second double of the inning and led 9-0 after three innings of play.

• The Blue Jays would get on the board in the top of the fourth on a single to right-center by Robbie Bertucio who would bring in Mike Christy. The Spartans would answer in a big way scoring six runs in the bottom of the fourth capped by a three-run double off the left field wall by Brandon White giving York a 15-1 lead after four innings.

• The Blue Jays would get another run back in the fifth but Josh Mann would minimize any damage by stranding three runners on base keeping York in control 15-2. Elizabethtown would go on to add three more in the top of the seventh frame and one in the ninth to cut the lead to single digits. The Blue Jays would hold the Spartans scoreless the final four innings of the game but York still cruised to a 15-6 win.
