How It Happened

• The Spartans got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning. Luke Turner led the frame off with a walk and would come around to score from first base on a double off the centerfield wall by Jimmy Wiegers to give York the early 1-0 lead.

• After a pair of scoreless innings, Grant Oberholtzer would lead off the bottom of the fifth with a single through the left side followed by stealing second and advancing to third on a throwing error. Oberholtzer would come in to score on a double by Austin Denlinger to left field and York doubled their lead after five. A lead-off homer by Wiegers in the sixth would extend the Spartan advantage to 3-0 after six innings.

• The Seahawks would get one back in the seventh as they hit three singles including an RBI-single by Connor Coursey. York would answer in a big way in the bottom half of the inning when Brandon White hit a moonshot of a three-run homer to left field to give York a 6-1 cushion after seven innings.

• The Seahawks would make things interesting in the eighth scoring three runs in the inning. A Brady Waters single and a Dillon Waters two-run shot would cut the Spartan lead to just a pair. Zac Stoll would start a double play in the ninth to finish the Seahawks off and secure the 6-4 win in game one.

How It Happened

• After a scoreless first, York got on the board in the second the same way they did in game one. A Luke Turner leadoff walk started the frame and he would come around to score on a Jimmy Wiegers double to left center. Wiegers would end up coming around to score on a Bailey Doan single and York led 2-0 after two innings.

• The Spartans would explode in the third taking advantage of some wild pitching and a Seahawk error to score 6 runs on just two hits. The Spartans would get their first run of the frame on an RBI-single by Justin Kilpatrick. Rob Acierno would then bring another run on a bases-loaded walk. Two more Spartans would score on a Seahawk error as York pushed their lead to 6-0. An Austin Denlinger single and a Brandon White sac fly brought the final two runs in of the inning and York ballooned their lead to 8-0 after three innings.

• Denlinger would bring home Grant Oberholtzer in the fifth inning after Oberholtzer doubled and stole third base and York now led 9-0. The Seahawks would get runs on a solo homer by Bowen Plagge in the sixth and an infield single in the eighth by Joey Bryner but Tim Halasnik would officially shut the door on the Seahawks striking out three of the four batters he faced as York completed the sweep with a 9-2 victory.
