Spartan Golfers Finish Fourth of 21 Teams at Elizabethtown

HERSHEY, PA – The York College golf squad made their third straight trip up Route 83 as they played in the Elizabethtown College Spring Invitational on a damp Thursday afternoon at Hershey Country Club East. The Spartans finished fourth of 21 teams in the tournament as they combined to shoot a team total of 319. They were three strokes out of third and six strokes out of second place in the tournament.

Ryan Wolbach shot 41 on the front nine and followed with a one-under-par 34 … Wolbach had a bogey on the par three 13 followed by an eagle three on the par five 14th hole … Wolbach had a birdie two on the par three 16th hole followed by a bogey on the par four 17th hole … Tyler Newton shot a team best 39 on the front followed by a two-over-par 37 on the back side for his 76 as he finished inside the top ten for the sixth time this year ... the trip to Hershey Country Club East is the third straight round the Spartans have played at the course after spending the weekend at the Hershey Cup last weekend.

What's Next:

The Spartans travel to the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational for a two-day tournament starting on Sunday morning. The tournament will be held at the Glenmaura National Golf Club in Scranton, PA.
