YORK, PA – The York College men's soccer team dropped a physical match 1-0 at the hands of the Frostburg State Bobcats on a beautiful October afternoon in York.

Match #16

How It Happened:

• The Bobcats struck first at the 5:02 mark of the first half as a cross from the right wing was played in by Punya Saleekul and was then flicked on to the center of the box off the head of Blake Geatz and finally headed home by Brett Basham to put York in an early 1-0 hole.

• The rest of the first half was mainly played in the middle-third of the field with both teams struggling to find any space at the offensive end leading to the score remaining 1-0 in favor of Frostburg at intermission.

• The second half saw a lot of physical play and fighting for possession but York was unable to capitalize on some of their late second-half chances and a scoreless second half resulted in a 1-0 win for the Bobcats.

York is 6-2-2 all-time against the Bobcats … the loss was the second consecutive shutout defeat for the Spartans … York has hit some troubled offensively only scoring twice in their last four contests, going 1-2-1 in that span … the Spartans were still able to conjure up double-digit shots for the 14thtime this year … York falls to 2-3-1 at home with the loss.
