How It Happened:

• The Spartans and Blue Jays were tied at six a little under midway through the quarter. The Spartans led 11-8 with 4:02 left in the quarter on a Kayla Ferris lay-up. The Blue Jays finished the quarter on a 9-1 run that gave them a 17-12 lead at the end of the first quarter.

• The Blue Jays continued to roll in the early minutes of the second quarter as they continued the run with a 9-0 run to push out to a 26-12 lead with 7:13 left in the half. The Spartans responded with a 10-2 run keyed by five points from Ferris as York trailed 28-22 with 3:48 left in the quarter. The Blue Jays eventually pushed the lead back to 11 at 35-24 before York scored three points on a trio of Jayla Galbreath free throws as York trailed 35-27 at the half.

• Hopkins started the third quarter much like they did the second as they ripped off an 8-2 spurt over the first five minutes of the quarter. York battled, trimming their deficit to eight on a pair of Savannah Wilson free throws with 1:06 left in the quarter. The Blue Jays would take a 51-42 lead to the fourth.

• The Blue Jays put the game away to start the fourth quarter as they hit York with another big run to start the quarter. This one was an 11-2 spurt as the lead grew to 18 with five minutes left in the game. York finished the game on a 9-2 run but it wouldn't be enough to get any closer than 11 points.
