YORK, PA – The York College women's lacrosse team posted their fifth straight win as they downed Southern Virginia 20-3 in Capital Athletic Conference action on Friday afternoon in York. The Spartans have outscored their last two opponents 43-9 as they have reached double digits in wins for the tenth consecutive year and the 11th time in the 14 years as a varsity program.
Junior Devin Hursey set the career assist record as she handed out three helpers in the win. She now has 71 career assists, breaking the mark of former Spartan great Kim Wayson (70).

How It Happened:
• The Spartans got cooking early and often. York scored six goals in the opening five minutes of the game as they raced out to a quick lead. Chloe MacDonald, Hayley McCormick, Meghan Fox, Caitlin Rankin, Devin Hursey, and Teresa Matthias scored the opening goals for York. Jordan Conley and Regan Cook scored to make it 8-0 as York had eight different players score to open the game.
• MacDonald scored her second goal of the game to make it 9-0 with 20:35 left in the opening half. The Spartans scored another six goals over the final 18:24 of the half to take a 15-0 lead to the break. York outshot the Knights 20-3 in the first half while they also won 13-of-16 draw controls over the first 30 minutes of play.
• The Spartans scored the opening three goals of the second half to take an 18-0 lead before the Knights broke up the shutout with two goals from Caitriona Knowles. Her first goal came at the 13:53 mark while the second one came 1:40 later. The Spartans scored two of the final three goals of the game to provide for the final 20-3 margin of Spartan victory.
